Electric charging time at home depends on the type of charging station chosen, and the size of a car’s battery. Level 1 electric charging stations charge an electric car in approximately 8-12 hours. Level 2 electric charging stations charge an electric car in 4-6 hours. However, charging time depends on the charging station capacity and an EV’s battery size.

Installing an electric car charger involves high voltage electrical work and we need to make sure the installation of EV charging station is safe and code-compliant. Some utilities offer off-peak rates for electric vehicle charging, so charging at home can be less expensive than refuelling your car.
